James is a young man from our world who finds himself inexplicatedly in another. He discovers he has the ability to work magic. Setting out to find out who brought him here and why, at first he simply strives to survive the many perils of this new world.
The young boy Miko whom he befriended has been taken captive by the Empire, and is on his way to be sold as a slave. James enlists the aid of new found friends to come to his rescue. Their search leads them into the very heart of the Empire.
The catastrophic rescue of Miko has drawn the attention of the power behind the Empire, the priesthood of Dmon-Li. They send one of their warrior priests after the mage(James) responsible the devastation and to bring him before their high priest.
Getting some R&R in Trendle, James works to learn more of how to control and harness magic. Also, he and Jiron sneak into the Empire controlled city of Saragon. There they hope to discover where the priests of Morcyth went, and maybe to find out why James had been brought to this world in the first place.
James is summoned to stand before the Cardri High Council to face charges brought to bear by the Empire. Incapacitated, he is given into their hands.
Enough is enough! Time to kick some butt. James, along with those who have gravitated to him since his first arrival to this world, go on the offensive against the forces of the Empire. Lots of fighting, magic.
James finally learns what he's here to do, and almost too late. More magic in this one than in any other.

Others
In many stories you hear how ‘The Chosen One’ appeared to save the day. Every wonder what would happen if the one doing the choosing bungled the job?

In Ring of the Or’tux, that’s exactly what happens. Hunter was on his way to a Three Stooges’ marathon when in mid-step, he went from the lobby of a movie theater to a charred tangle of stone and timber that once had been a place of worship. From there it only gets worse for the hapless Chosen One. First, an attempt to flee those he initially encounters (who by the way are the ones he was sent there to save), lands him into the merciless clutches of an invading army (those whom he was supposed to defeat).
