Spread the word...
As I am still a relatively unknown author, some have asked how they could help get the word out about The Morcyth Saga and the rest. Frankly, there are only a couple of ways beyond Word of Mouth. Here are two others:
1. Bookstores:
Either call or talk to your local bookstores about stocking the books. Most however resist the idea of stocking self-published books. One of the main reasons for this is that the profit margin for these books tends to be less than what they would like versus their financial commitment.
2. Online Reviews:
Many online sellers of both e-books and paperbacks offer their readers the chance to express to others either their likes or dislikes through the use of reviews. In my personal experience, readers of my books who liked them tended to email me, while those who don't post reviews.
Posted reviews should have a point aside from saying 'It's Great!!!' Give those reading the review an understanding of why you liked the book. A few examples like "I really liked the time when..." or "This book kept me on the edge of my seat because..." can make all the difference.
Barnes and Noble have a section of their review dedicated to just this. Where you can list other favorites. So if you review another book on their site, you are given the opportunity to tell others of different books you liked. That way those who are reading revies of books by, say, Robert Jordan or Raymond E. Feist to name but two, might see in the 'Also recommended' section of the review "The Unsuspecting Mage", or "Shepherd's Quest".
